Fortnite v12.40 is here, bringing with it a half dozen new skins. With the Chapter 2 spy season coming to a close with the advent of the Doomsday Device, it's time for the last waves of skins to hit the battle royale. In a surprise move, three new Marvel heroes are making their way out of the movies and comic books to collect materials and build bases.
Cable, Domino and Psylocke are all new skins that will be available sometime in the next few weeks. Following Deadpool, these fellow members of X-Force are some of the most storied mutants in the history of the X-Men franchise. Cable is a super-powered psy-kinetic battler from the future with a technological disease eating him away. He's been the badass supersoldier on many of Deadpool's adventures, most notably in the Deadpool 2 movie.
Alongside Cable in that flick was Domino, the assassin with the ability to manipulate the luck of a situation. You may notice that she looks a bit different than her movie counterpart, having a near-perfect recreation of her comic-book persona. Domino has never been one of Marvel's most popular mutants but it is great to see her in all that glory on the Fortnite battle bus.
My favorite skin of this group belongs to Psylocke, who was played by Olivia Munn in the X-Men: Apocalypse movie. She didn't talk or do a hell of a lot in the film, but Psylocke is one of the strongest and most interesting characters in the mutant superhero pantheon. First showing up in the '70s as the twin sister of Captain Britain (yes, that's a real mutant), her telekinetic abilities allow her to construct psionic weapons to incapacitate her foe. Psylocke does not need an actual dagger to take down her enemies—she just takes her purple mind powers and shoves them straight into your skull.
Here are all the new skins and cosmetics found by data miners in the code, in case these merry mutants aren't to your fancy. But if you aren't planning on playing as X-Force Deadpool or Cable when they're released, then I don't think we can be friends.
