Fortnite Storm King Mode - How to Defeat the Storm King

The new Fortnitemares mode is live right now in Fortnite Battle Royale, and it comes with a new PvE event. In this Fortnite Storm King guide, we'll be walking you through defeating the Storm King as quickly as possible with the help of your teammates.

Right now, you can hop into the new Storm King mode in Fortnite Battle Royale, from the main menu. This is a brand new PvE mode, which groups up players in squads, all to take down one massive enemy called the Storm King.

You'll start out by landing on the island in the middle of the Fortnite map. Here, you and every other player in the mode will be tasked with taking down the huge Storm King, and it's one hell of a tough fight.

Storm King Weak Points

The trick to defeating the Storm King is playing as a team. The Storm King will down any player if they're hit by one of his attacks, and if someone in this mode dies, they're out of the mode for good, with no way to respawn even if you're part of a squad.

In the initial phase for the Storm King, you need to defeat the weak points on the Storm King when they appear. This first weak point is on the chest of the boss, which appears periodically after he's let rip with an attack. The health bar for the boss at the top of the screen isn't the health of the boss, but instead the health of the Storm King's weak points.

When you've completely depleted the first health bar through hitting the weak points on the chest of the boss, the health bar will completely fill back up. In the second phase, there'll be crystals dotted all over the map, periodically spawning out smaller zombies for you to kill.

It's really important that you destroy the crystals around the arena as quickly as possible, because you don't want to get overwhelmed by the hordes of zombies. The crystals might be encased within strange vines, and they'll take a fair amount of damage before they're destroyed, but it's more than worth spending your ammo on.

Then, turn your attention back to the Storm King itself. The weak points on the boss are now its horns, which you'll need to completely destroy one after another. Note that if you opted not to destroy all the crystals, you can use the zombies as a source of loot, since they'll always drop either ammo, weapons, or healing items when killed.

In the final phase, the Storm King's entire torso will be a weak point, after you've broken both of its horns. If you've got any turrets in your inventory through killing zombies, now would be the time to drop them and put them to good use.

Storm King Rewards

After the boss is defeated and you're done, you'll be rewarded with XP based on your performance. There's actually a Medal Punch Card reward for the mode, which will grant you with 8,000 XP if you can successfully defeat the boss and make it out alive.
