According to the leaks, the crossover event will add Batman-themed items, such as the Batarang, which sticks to walls and explodes when enemies are in proximity, and the Grapnel Gun, which lets players pull themselves to a location and deploy the Bat Cape. It sounds similar to the Grappler weapon that was previously in the game, but the addition of the Bat Cape deploying could mean that glide safely back down and that fall damage will not apply.
Tilted Town (formerly Tilted Towers) will also undergo yet another change this season, becoming Gotham City. The event as a whole will come with a number of "Welcome to Gotham City" limited-time challenges that can be completed to unlock special rewards, such as Batman-themed sprays, emotes, and more. A total of 10 challenges will be available and range from lighting up Bat Signals outside of Gotham City to defusing Joker gas canisters around the map.
Epic has yet to officially announce or even tease the crossover event, but it will likely go live sometime this week. Fortnite's weekly reset is typically on Thursday which would be just in time for Batman Day on Saturday, September 21.
Epic has collaborated with major brands in the past for in-game events, the most notable being Marvel with the Avengers. However, this is the first time the game developer has partnered with DC for a crossover event. PUBG, another popular battle royale game, added some Harley Quinn and Joker character skins last year.
